Gary, who’s apart of our Niche to Riches group is selling some niche related packages - this month with our health related websites in full swing (or starting… ummm… yes that would be me) this would be a perfect opportunity to get the ball rolling - with minimal work from you. The site is ready to go - how much easier could it get. If I didn’t have my site already set to go - more or less - I would have chosen something from Gary’s collection of sites.

Well, in anticipation of this month and working with my site to build it up and start making revenue with it - I’m very far behind on where I had wanted to be when I started. I haven’t researched for keywords, put the new theme together, written articles and all that jazz. Nope I’ve done nothing! Sounds so much like me - the UBER procrastinator. But that was honestly to try to get a head start, it wasn’t the end all be all for the niche if it wasn’t done before the start of the month.

So here I am. Day One with one very out of date website that has next to no traffic and a lot of work ahead of me. My goal this month for this site is to make $10. I don’t care how I make it - through affiliate sales, advertising, etc. I’m looking to make $10. If I beat it - I’m going to be so stoked. I don’t think I’ve ever had a site that would make more than $10 in a month - right out of the gate so to speak. So I’m looking forward to the challenge. Also if this goes well and I make it work - who knows, I might end up trying my hand a flipping it. Sell it to someone with a passion for the subject. I mean, I am interested… but I think there would be a very very long line in front of me for people who would be far more passionate about the subject.

So this month is going to be stoked full of research, theme design and content writing… with a dash of affiliate links, products and advertising. I’m thinking $10 is achievable - and that’s what I’m aiming for.

Realizing that there are only 3 more days till February 1st has got me freakin’ out - just a little bit.  Ok, freakin’ out a lot.  I’ve got my site and I’m still in the process of working on a new layout (not as important) and keywords, content… blah blah blah.  One think I’m good with is the direction I want to take my health related site on.  What content I need, what affiliates I should go after.  I know we’re working on it starting February 1st, but I’m just really wanting to be prepared for this one… as best I can.

How are things coming along for everyone else?

I we’re all quiet busy with our other projects and life in general, but I have a request.  If you like how things are working so far - no comment is needed.  But I am interested in hearing what you’d like to see here - progress charts for each of us - a goals page - a forum (I’m not sure we really need that, since we can comment here and have a good dialogue), anything?    I’d like to be as open to anyone who signs up and wants to participate and I’d like to hear your thoughts on the site and where I could make improvements.

Just wanting to touch base with everyone to see how we’re doing with our first Niche ideas for anything Health related that you’d like to try.   So far I’ve got my domain and hosting all set up - the site itself is a dusty and sadly rarely used site that is in severe need of a make-over and that’s where I’ll be starting.  I’m also contemplating hiring a writer to make 10 articles on this topic for me.  I’m not sure, since that would put me in the hole and that’s not really the way to get things rolling right off the bat.  So I might end up having to do it.

I’m having issues with time on this project.  It’s a topic that is very interesting, but at the same time a bit of a time drain and I’m very interested in outsourcing.  But the outsourcing might have to wait until the site itself turns a profit for me.

So I still have to get the keywords together, write a few articles (I’m aiming for 10) with those keywords and refresh the layout of the site.  Make it a little more contemporary and take advantage of a few things I’ve learned about WordPress since I last worked on this site almost 2 years ago!  Yikes.

… how are things rolling with everyone so far?  Picked a domain yet?  Ideas?  Do you think we should brainstorm health related topics up to help each other?

Well, the votes are in and we’re working on a health related site starting February 1st.  I’m curious if any of you have found a site getting dusty in your repertoire of domains or if you’ll be starting out fresh in this niche?

My first step with my site is to get some popular keywords (or not quite so popular) and start working some articles together and putting them online.  Then I’ll work on the “look” of the site to make it more up-to-date and just keep motoring.  I’m still not sure how much money I’d like to try for.    I hope I’ll have more of an idea closer to the start date.
